Snow will be sweeping into the Northeast overnight and will last into Friday morning along the East Coast.
Most cities along the Eastern Seaboard will see no more than one to two inches.
Cold, northerly winds will move in behind the system and that will kick in the lake-effect snow marching south of the Great Lakes.
Snowfall of at least 6 to 12 inches can be expected over the mountains of West Virginia and western Pennsylvania and across northwest Pennsylvania, southwest New York and counties just south of Lake Ontario in Upstate New York.
