The most common co-occurring infection that causes flu-related deaths is staphylococcus aureus. A third of the population carries it, most in their nose or on their skin.

The flu causes upper respiratory damage, which allows the staph to make its way into the lungs.

Council Staff Leave As Lone Blogger’s Comments Lead To Mass Walkout

DailyMail.co.uk A town council has disbanded after members staged a mass walkout in protest at being constantly criticised by a lone internet blogger.

Eleven of the 15 members on Somerton Town Council, in Somerset, resigned after being subjected to three years of online abuse.

The blog was started by resident Niall Connolly, 58, who first attacked the council after plans for a community hall were scrapped.

Councillors claim the blog has become increasingly bitter and personal, with members described as ‘clowns’, ‘hypocrites’ and ‘jackasses’.

COLLIER COUNTY – Pediatricians across Collier are refusing to sign a letter promoting the swine flu vaccine because they say it’s unsafe. This comes as Swine Flu vaccines are being offered for the first time at four Collier County schools.

On Tuesday, The Health Department vaccinated more than 1100 children at Lake Park Elementary and three other schools across Collier County. Parents we spoke with say they’re taking advantage of this opportunity.

Mike Kirkby, 38, of Dale Grove, Leigh, who served in the Gulf in 1991, has battled with the MOD and health authorities over how he contracted Gulf War Syndrome.

To increase his survival time during chemical warfare, he was given multiple shots of the Plague Vaccine, which he claims contains adjuvant squalene – the same additive that will be used in the new swine flu vaccine.
